Our Expertise
Our Board is well experienced in international trade and investment. We draw from a vibrant dynamism in economic and commercial relationship that exists between both countries and to work towards achieving the full potential existing in trade and industry between Morocco and Australia.
Our Philosophy
To be a dynamic and influential body representing and supporting the business interests and values of the Council members, and facilitating business opportunities for them. To be a conduit for Moroccan companies who want to do business in Australia and expand to Asia, and for Australian companies who wish to do business in Morocco and use it as a gateway to Africa.
Our Commitment to Results
We are committed to enhance the flow of information on investment and trade related issues between Australia and Morocco, and to provide support to Moroccan and Australian businesses, in expanding their opportunities in each market, and improve bilateral commercial, industrial and technical co-operation between Australia and Morocco.
Our Outlook
Morocco is a strategic hub for international business with an ambitious plan of growth, an expanding economy into the global marketplace, capitalising on its proximity with Europe and creating a liaison between Africa and the rest of the world with the creation of Casablanca Finance City as Africa’s new financial and economical hub. With free trade agreements signed with Europe, the U.S. and other countries of the Middle East, Morocco is emerging as an important destination for both trade and industry.

Soufiane was the immediate Past Chair of the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI) in SA and National Board Member, he held the position for over 10 years and he is an expert in the MENA Region. He led a number of high-level ministerial trade mission to the region and facilitated trade and investment attraction.In 2017, Soufiane was nominated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade The Hon Julie Bishop to serve as a Board Member and Advisor of the Council of Australian Arab Relations (CAAR) in the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, and was repointed again in 2020 By the new elected Minister the Hon Marise Payne. He has a wide professional network across international organisations, government agencies,development partners and other stakeholders involved in Trade. Soufiane also has an extensive experience in international education and have held advising position in both Universities, The University of Adelaide and The University of South Australia.

​Professor Tim Harcourt is the Industry Professor and Chief Economist at the Institute for Public Policy and Governance (IPPG) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
Tim is also Chief Economist of the new Centre for Sport Business and Society (CSBS) at UTS Sydney.
Tim is passionate about making economics and international trade accessible to the whole community. He is well known for his TV shows The Airport Economist and The Great Transformation and the new Airport Economist 24/7 TV channel.

Jade Evans is a strategy specialist with extensive experience in the Middle East and Africa region with both the private and public sector organisations.She has led economic growth, strategy design and leadership and change practices for large consulting companies, including as a Senior Manager and Project Director for the Palladium Group in Saudi Arabia and across the region and as the Managing Director of A.D. Executive Consultants in the UAE.

Charles Figallo founded Novafast Holdings in 1999 and has built the company from the ground up, serving as Chief Executive Officer for 20 years. Charles has over 40 years of business operating experience, as well as an extensive knowledge of composite materials and corrosion protection, having worked in the industry since his teenage years. Charles is heavily involved in various business and community organisations in Adelaide, and was notably awarded the Order of Australia Medal for services to business and community in 2017.

Philip Marley is the Commercial and Legal Group Manager for Codan Limited. His responsibilities include overseeing contractual and legal matters, monitoring export controls and managing regulatory compliance and government affairs.
Previously, he was the State Manager of South Australia and Northern Territory for Gerling NCM, now known as Atradius, a global company that specialises in credit insurance and credit management.
His role as past president of the International Trade Association of South Australia and his 12 years experience as the Regional Director of South Australia & Northern Territory for Export Finance & Insurance Corporation have given him a wide depth of knowledge in trade policy and export management.
